IMAX gotta go back to the drawing board with their tunings, I get that the average person is a bass head and gives zero fucks about mids and highs but jesus the low end just destroys everything, no discernible audio besides rumbling is bad for movies
Bro these were my exact thoughts while watching it. Half the time you couldn’t even tell there was a soundtrack

It made that Dune 3 preview really cool, but that’s an example of how it can be used for effect. They really need to fix the mixing for when the soundtrack is supposed to help amplify scenes

Just realized I either missed the Dune preview or they didn’t run it at my theatre and I’m very sad about that. Do feel like it works a bit better for Dune

I watched it on a 70mm screen so that might’ve been why

Can confirm it made the scene very immersive though since the rumbles fit the scene very well

Feel like they still should’ve had it, wasn’t in my seat until 5-10 mins after previews started so maybe they showed it first (should’ve shown it last) and I just missed it

I think part of why we had it was that we didn’t have any previews. It was “A special look at Dune 3 brought to you by Christopher Nolan” and then immediately into the Odyssey

Ooh that may be it then, didn’t see it in 70mm but a dedicated imax with laser theatre

Ahh that’s probably it. I honestly had no clue it would happen or if there’d be previews since I’ve never been to a 70mm showing before, so I didn’t know what to expect either
