I wouldn’t say I refuse to watch Charlie Chaplin movies, but I’m really not interested in seeing them. I feel like since the filmmaking is so outdated the movies won’t be very worthwhile.

It’s so strange that his movies have like a 4.3 on Letterboxd just because they’re classics and Chaplin’s an icon and all, but y’all should just be honest about movies you like and don’t like

buster keaton is much more entertaining imo. sherlock jr genuinely holds up. i’m still fascinated by how he managed to do some of it

Yeah but that’s probably only compelling because it’s old. I don’t wanna watch something because it’s old. I wanna watch something because it’s good.

it being old adds something to the fascination, but it’s not just that, at least for me. he’s genuinely just so creative. and sherlock jr is 49 min and fast paced.
