Originals make prequels better, but prequels make originals worse tbh. Start with the og. Coming from a prequels lover

start with the last jedi, then attack of the clones, rogue one, solo, the clone wars movie, return of the jedi, revenge of the sith, moneyball, star wars holiday special, rise of skywalker, empire strikes back, the phantom menace, the force awakens, and end with a new hope.

I personally always watch them in chronological order bc it makes the most sense to me storyline wise. I watched 456 and then 123 (made-by order) as a kid and missed a lot of things that made way more sense when I watched it in chrono order

I disagree tho. Why would you not watch them chronologically to understand what’s happening in the full story? I saw them the other way first but when I showed them to my sister we did it chronologically and the look on her face at the Vader reveal was unmatched

I consider myself a pretty big fan (we rewatch annually or more) but fuck I don’t want to be lumped in with that

Because you’re supposed to be shocked and surprised at the Vader reveal not know the surprise. You’re not supposed to know the full story until the end. It’s like the 6th sense.

???? But you DONT know about it just because you watch them in chronological order, quite the opposite? Are we talking about the same thing? If anything I feel like watching 456 first would ruin 123 and would not at all have the same shock value. I love the idea of watching Anakin grow up, the character development into what he becomes, THEN how his lineage grows and influences his redemption arc. It only makes sense to me that way.

Watch the original. Then watch the prequels. That’s the only real way to do it.

I just completely disagree. The story is GOOD when you watch it as it happens chronologically. Like I said, watching Anakin grow up, become misguided, then his redemption before his death. His ending just hits so much better when you have the context of his childhood and especially his years as a Jedi and everything before the end

You’re not supposed to know about him and understand his childhood he’s supposed to be this completely unrepentant villain. And it’s supposed to have a shock and awe factor that you lose if you watch 1,2,3 first. Really in general you should watch how the creator intended then change it on rewatch.
