I highly doubt those other directors are anywhere near as good as Hayao Miyazaki. They just seem like directors that filmbros pretend to love to look like they know more about movies

He’s one of the first directors you learn about in any basic Film 101 class. Battleship Potemkin’s staircase scene has been homaged to hell and back in other films and tv. It’s why he’s considered a director film bros bring up to sound deep
