i think a big reason why so many people reject abstract art is because they often feel inclined to “understand” it or “solve” it instead of getting on its wavelength.

I think that’s what makes watching movies so cool. Everyone has a different reaction to what the movie is showing. I’m sure our letterboxds look very different

I completely disagree with ur caption of this post. I do watch movies to understand the concept and if their r plot holes I will fault it on my review. But that being said it’s so great that movies exist in a way where both u and I who watch them differently can still enjoy them

my opinion with plot holes is that anything goes as long as you can compensate. lynch’s movies don’t really have a lot of plot holes, but it helps that he gets by on dream logic and expression as a means of storytelling. i think we’re on the same page, but our priorities are a little different.

I like ur diversity in rankings. I hate when ppl only rate 3 stars or up lmao. I cannot honestly say I’ve see. Many of the movies u have haha

i think the main reason why you disagree with my point is because you seemingly haven’t seen much abstract art. sorry if that’s a poor assumption, but your canon seems to be mostly straightforward hollywood films, while i’m talking about filmmakers like david lynch or derek jarman.
