
i think in the crudest of terms, it’s been the most cinematic and thoughtful writing of a film in a while. there were so many chances for them to ruin it with the writing or a bad joke, but they didn’t. it’s sad that so many people are stoked about a film being acceptably made without the offputting attempts at connecting with the audience that films do nowadays, let alone the obvious callbacks or reiterations of important details “in case you were on your phone” shit that writers do now.
