This take is so weird to me, they’re ACTORS, what are they supposed to do not act in movies(besides Travis Scott obv).
I don’t really give a shit about what race any of the actors in The Odyssey are, but it is kind of distracting when so much of the cast is made up of recognizable faces that have already been in big movies like this

It could also be a choice from the studio. If they think bigger names will sell more tickets it’s possible they had Nolan cast them 🤷🏻‍♂️

i completely agree it’s literally their job, BUT i think what this person is saying is that The Odyssey is a huge movie and would’ve been a great chance to get some new faces on the big screen instead of recycling a bunch of popular actors who’ve been in several major roles over the past few years. obviously there were always going to be some big names as far as casting, but it could’ve been offset by giving smaller actors a chance with some of the other roles.

I get that but yk I also see the appeal of getting all the a listers to play in the big budget Christopher Nolan epic. Makes it more of a spectacle in my opinion. Something like Oceans Eleven is a good example of a film being elevated by an all star cast and I hope I come out of this movie thinking the same thing. I think their are times when it’s good to cast unknown/ lesser known actors in bigger productions but I personally don’t think that this is the time
