Because it’s a movie. It’s not real life. People want to see hot people on screen, whether they admit it or not. It’s not a structural inequality thing, people just prefer to look at attractive people over unattractive people. That’s why hot women are in movies over less attractive women, and likewise for men.

Hollywood used to cast normal looking people. Then they casted good looking people. Now they cast REALLY good looking people who aren’t allowed to have anything wrong with their appearance to the point of looking uncanny.
