High and low was lowk boring kurosawa shouldve made it a thriller. I appreciate them shooting on location and the performances of the cast were fine. The concept is there and the ending is somewhat satisfying but my god some scenes are slow as hell 2.8/5

even if you didn’t like the movie (i like it but it’s far from my favorite kurosawa), how could you consider it a waste of time? it’s such an important movie for the culture. it’s still time well spent even if you don’t like it. and how would any 2.8 be a waste of time? there’s clearly enough value that you should be glad you watched it. like is 3/5 a waste of time? you’re allowed to dislike the movie, but calling it a “waste” is such an extreme thing to say

sorry for the crashout. again, you’re allowed to like what you like, but i think you should still be glad you gave it a chance.

I appreciate your civility. Glad i dialed in for all of it but it just wasnt for me. Maybe its what he intended for the average viewer to feel.. not as a waste of time but to provoke the underlying theme of those 2.5 hrs. Westerns / noir endings arent always satisfying, i suppose we’re left to ponder with gondo as the screen fades to black. Idk if this makes sense at all

not too much but i think i see where you’re coming from. i just can’t stand that sort of attitude that watching a movie, especially one that has its place in the culture, carrying as much influence as high and low, is a “waste of time.” that’s all. hope you have a nice rest of your night my friend
