even if you didn’t like the movie (i like it but it’s far from my favorite kurosawa), how could you consider it a waste of time? it’s such an important movie for the culture. it’s still time well spent even if you don’t like it. and how would any 2.8 be a waste of time? there’s clearly enough value that you should be glad you watched it. like is 3/5 a waste of time? you’re allowed to dislike the movie, but calling it a “waste” is such an extreme thing to say
I appreciate your civility. Glad i dialed in for all of it but it just wasnt for me. Maybe its what he intended for the average viewer to feel.. not as a waste of time but to provoke the underlying theme of those 2.5 hrs. Westerns / noir endings arent always satisfying, i suppose we’re left to ponder with gondo as the screen fades to black. Idk if this makes sense at all
not too much but i think i see where you’re coming from. i just can’t stand that sort of attitude that watching a movie, especially one that has its place in the culture, carrying as much influence as high and low, is a “waste of time.” that’s all. hope you have a nice rest of your night my friend
