I hate awards season because why does everyone need to share their ranking of films? Art isn’t meant to be ranked. There are so many scales one could “rate” a piece of art on. My personal preference means nothing. What a weird and backwards reality

I enjoy sharing what I love, but people just take this stuff so weird and personally around the Oscars. Saw someone threatening someone’s family in tiktok today abt Sinners vs Marty Supreme 😭And why do we have a televised horse rase in an artistic field? I just find the whole thing weird
