I’m with him on this because it could’ve easily just said “friendship breakup” as that term does already exist and it’s clear that the title “BE FRI” is a reference to friendship charms like this one. The fact that Disney went out of their way to make it very clear it’s “platonic” just shows how afraid the company is of being accused of being gay.

It could have just been a movie about best friends. Friendships exist, it doesn’t have to be gay. Also pixar has been bleeding money for a long time now, I’m sure there was very little confidence in this project given the track record. Pixar needs to stop and take a good amount of time on their next project and get it right
