battle for the planet of the apes is a pretty underwhelming conclusion and i’d take any of the caesar movies over it, but i love all the other movies so much that it more than makes up for it

When it comes to the characters, I will always prefer the reboots. However, the original movies have probably some of my favorite depictions of scientific debate in fiction. I kinda cringe anytime I hear the human characters speak in the reboot, especially the scientists and corpo dude in the first movie. There’s just nothing really interesting being said by them

honestly the old ones are the only ones i’d be willing to watch. i saw parts of the caesar chronicles and understood the praise the creative & technical filmmaking they accomplished… but it just didn’t capture me like the old films did. plus as a conservationist on stolen indigenous land, Avatar just speaks to me.
