I imagine they only visualize it that one way because any contact with the zone is inherently a strike, meaning a ball can be 99% out of the zone and still be a strike Measuring the closest point of the ball to being a strike makes a lot more visual sense in the 2 seconds we see it than measuring the furthest point of the ball from being outside of the zone (Idk it’s kinda hard to explain, they’re both easy enough but one just conceptually makes more sense at a glance)
