well yes we do know he’ll sign elsewhere but i disagree that it’s “fine.” aside from being a fan favorite he’s a very valuable arm, especially come October, and he won’t be replaced easily. unless Painter comes up and exceeds expectations or we acquire another big arm the team is worse next year

I agree but he’s definitely not as big of a necessity as Schwarber and JT. It would be fantastic if he re-signed, but we could survive without him, and there are other starting pitchers on the market like Imai who could be cheaper and maybe even better
