Dude, they lost becthey kept putting the big names out on the field because of sunk cost fallacy. Despite Freeman, Ohtani, and Tucker playing horribly, Roberts kept running them out there because their names put asses in seats, when thy have better hitting players (at the moment) sitting on the bench. Anyone else with Ohtani’s numbers would have been on a bus to Triple-A in August. But because he’s a big star they made him the weight on their already sinking ship.
