I fucked up and had villagers escape and now the only ones left are in this trading hall I’m making. Would it be easier to break open back somehow to let them reproduce or just go and steal two more from village?

yeah, completely depends on where the village is and how much you’ve done with these ones already. if you’ve already leveled them up and want to be able to trade with them, that would mean switching them back out with others later if you use them for a breeder now.

depends on how far away the village is, but you may wanna keep the villager breeder long term so if its not too far then i'd just go get more from the village

It’s pretty close by but over a mountain so dragging them in a boat is kind of tricky. I think I’ll still just do that and keep the ones I have set in. Will I need to give these ones name tags or any other protection? I have some other things I wanna do and just wanna not worry about these guys getting attacked, escaping or despawning

villagers don’t despawn so you don’t need to nametag them, they should be ok with just the area lit up and no holes large enough for a baby zombie to reach them

Thank you very much! That reminds me that I was going to get some cats to put around too for when I eventually add a zombie in the hall to reduce trade costs (I do not want a creeper destroying everything)
