kinda deranged that we’re living in an era where shooting up a diabetes medication (one infamous for its side effects, no less) to lose a few extra pounds isn’t seen as a frighteningly drastic measure / cry for help but instead normalized as “healthcare”
why are eating disorders becoming a trend omg get me out of here

There are entire programs that exist solely to lie to insurance companies to get people GLP-1 drugs. Ro is the big one I get ads for all the time, like I have an A1c that is just on the cusp of not quite diabetic, so I don’t qualify. My small clinic I went to lied to my insurance company without my consent, and I was horribly neglected when I was given Ozempic I didn’t need

For some it is healthcare but I agree the casual use and normalization for those who don't actually need it is crazy and as someone who works in healthcare I'm disgusted by doctors that enable this

Losing weight can leads to less complications later in life hence the “healthcare” perspective

Okay understandable but I think "healthy fulfilling diet and reasonable amount of exercise that the individual person can handle so they lose weight at a healthy pace" and "brute forcing weight loss via drugs" are not comparable in that regard
