does anyone have tips for when therapy just isn’t working. i don’t my loneliness validated i want to make friends

u can ask ur therapist for a diff approach. therapy isnt just abt validating what ur feeling, it can also be abt helping u build the skills to get where u want to go. a good therapist should be able to take that & redirect. if not maybe u need a new therapist focused more on building social skills, practicing social dynamics, pushing u to engage w others, helping u break out of ur shell, allowing u the space to explore & get it wrong in session so u can get it right in the real world

i can try asking! i’m just unsure since im fine with surface level interactions, but don’t know how to make friendships actually deep or make them last if they are

i had two really great friends that weren’t hard to make but they dropped me after a breakdown (from med withdrawls) and idk how to start over or do better since i couldn’t control my behavior at the time

☹️aw im sorry that really sucks. hopefully ull be able to find better friends who align w where u r now & wouldnt drop u if u go through smth like that again
