Sounds like you need a psychiatrist. If you don’t want to be helped, good luck

gang i do have a psychiatrist and i have been in therapy since i was 7 years old. i have been to various inpatients and outpatients and have done a million types of therapy and treatments. i do want to be helped, i so badly want to be able to just stop but it is far from simple and there are so many contributing factors that remain out of my control.

i know you probably didn’t intend to come off as insanely invalidating with this comment but for the love of god, PLEASE think before you send comments like this that act like these things are a simple fix if you just get on medication (which is what a psychiatrist’s job is to prescribe—not sure if you meant to say psychologist/therapist or if you genuinely think medication can magically cure everyone of everything) and seem to assume that the people you’re saying this to have never considered—

-that or that if they haven’t seen a psychiatrist for whatever reason that they are not trying or don’t want help. that is almost NEVER the case. i’ve been highly medicated for nearly half my life and have gone through a whole variety of med combinations and have near exhausted my options. i did not make this post asking someone to solve this for me without knowing anything about me. asking people what they’re needing before giving unsolicited advice is a good habit to build.
