Especially the 688 ones. “Are you feeling suicidal?” “Ok well since you aren’t suicidal, please take good care of yourself and call us if you are.”

I was just talking to one and he just said a lot of “you didn’t handle that situation perfectly.” And I was like ?? I know. But I did the best I could in the moment and I’ve learned. Obviously in retrospect it’s easy to see what should have happened. And it’s easy to say “this is what I would have done” when you aren’t in that situation. He also said something like “did you try to free yourself from that situation. People have fought bigger problems like sexism and slavery” like ???

He also just kept repeating everything back to me and, I’m a psych major. I know they teach them this. And it was helpful for when he got something wrong, I could correct it. But you can’t ONLY repeat after someone, you also have to have a discussion 😭

Really? In my case they’re like “well you should reach out to a therapist” and I’m like “well I’m in crisis right now, this is the crisis help line” but yeah I guess it’s depending on region
