Ngl, golf is one of the more toxic places to exist in… this is extremely sad.

i studied sports psychology this past semester and some elite athletes go so hard that they want the win so bad that they’ll sacrifice they’re life for it. it’s sad but it’s real at that level. they’ve trained all they’re life and they achieve and i guess they’re done once that happens. i guess we’ll never really know what it was for him.

I’m almost positive that the same ppl saying RIP now, overlooked major warning signs or reached out to help. That’s why people continue to struggle alone and that’s why ppl will keep dying to suicide. Pay attention to the signs and check in on your loved ones

There’s a video of him being interviewed where he opened up a little about his mental health and how he’s been through some stuff for years

I met a professional UFC fighter in the “looney bin” after an attempt… I was shocked to see him there, also the amount of damage most contact sports are is insane and they all go thru so much behind the scenes..

I used to play golf pretty competitively and quit because I couldn’t handle the environment… one of my coaches literally went “oh I never had a day like that” after I told him that I was just super depressed that day. It was annoying

Wow doesn’t really surprise me I feel in any sport men can be toxic then when you speak on your feelings they’re going to tell you to man up but look where we’re at now. I play golf sometimes but for leisure I actually went to a driving range yesterday. So can’t imagine dealing with golf coaches that are always toxic you know

I’m a woman. My coach was a man. I luckily found a female coach later who is the reason that I started taking antidepressants and eventually went back to therapy… not all are horrible, but unfortunately most people I’ve encountered in golf don’t believe in mental health…
