brought it up to my therapist. she immediately said “thank you for bringing that up. i think that title is EXTREMELY fitting, and ill be adding that diagnosis to your chart, ik enough about you that i don’t have to evaluate” 💀💀
if i want to get diagnosed with c/ptsd, do i ask my therapist, or just wait for her to bring it up?

This is good - this opens up more specific treatment options to you. Your insurance will be able to cover stuff now that they couldn’t cover without that on your chart. You advocated for yourself and got access to more resources

i think the only reason she didn’t diagnose me before i brought it up is bc she didn’t want to cause more problems w me bc i have a problem where i think i make problems bigger than they are and she thought that it would make me q a lot lmao

That’s a likely possibility and happens to a lot of people so you’re not alone in that experience. I had a therapist tell me that exact reason for not putting certain things in my chart because a lot of the time it doesn’t change the treatment plan and can just cause rumination. Sometimes they were already diagnosing/treating something without saying too because people can put a lot of pressure on labels. Good job being honest about your thoughts I hope it makes it easier to work through things!
