Does anyone want to help me prep notes for a phone call with my narcissist dad that I’ve been no contact with for the past year? It’s a long story and I can catch you up but dm me if you feel qualified/ just want to hear someone else’s family drama

Remember a narcissist wants attention. Does he fall in that spectrum? Other bias types are sociopath and psychopath. Sociopath is about power but not attention where they seek it with different makes that can parallel narcissist. Psychopath is someone wanting something that ain’t right and become a problem for those in the way.

Well our relationship is non traditional in the sense that my parents have been separated/divorced since I was very young with my mom as my primary caregiver. He’s been “present” but now that I’m older I realize just how little he actually contributed in ways that mattered. He absolutely seeks attention. Everything happens TO him and nothing is his fault and when people get upset with him they’re “crazy”

I wish I could help. My parents got divorced when I was 10 because my dad is kinda autistic and he didn’t understand he was a bad husband and bad father but my mom didn’t want us living like that. Things were great when they were divorced, split custody and I saw both my parents every day and I was close to my dad and he would spoil us with food and treats and get us robots to build and stuff, it was a really good time in my life. But when I turned 14 he suddenly got remarried (I found out he

So how are you in his way? Is it because he wants attention? Also narcissists being heads of the household will have a scapegoat that kicks blame all to channel this attention to create ordeal and direct that attention.

I see. Do you care for him and want a happy ending of sorts? Or it’s about him being toxic and finding ways to cope as he’s around?

Was engaged like August 25ish, met her and her family on like August 30ish and then like 10 days later he was married and moved 3 hours away) and the trauma of that triggered a serious medical condition (he refuses to admit that though) and this was the start of covid so at first he would come visit us for a week ish every month cuz he kept his house here. But then when covid really hit he stopped coming and it went downhill from there. My stepmom is super religious and brainwashed my dad and I

Can’t go visit him unless I follow her crazy rules (my step sister who was 14 was only allowed to watch videos set for 7 years old or younger) and she started taking all my dads money and turning him against us. He doesn’t visit us anymore, barely spends money on us for anything. Meanwhile my mom isn’t rich and she tries her best but we’re barely middle class and my dad refuses to buy simple things like socks for me. But he paid for my step sisters wedding before he was even married, pays for

Their medical stuff and their school and camp and for them to have a cleaning lady 5x a week. Meanwhile my mom had to take him to court to get him to pay 1/3 of my college tuition ($1800 total for a semester btw) and now my stepmom has bled him dry and he has no money. I barely have a relationship with him because he always talks about his new family. And he just sold his house by me, which was the last time he had to us really. He got rid of all his furniture from before his new wife, all his

Memories, his parents furniture, anything that ties him to us. It’s like the last step of him leaving. And I so badly just want a father. I just want my dad back. I don’t want to be fatherless and broken. But he’s gone.

Sorry to hear #2. I recall a woman who had her dad die and then a year later her mom died. She had a home for her parents that was coowned between her and her sister. Once the mom died, the sister sold it and pocket the money when it was below value and kept the profits. The sister no longer speaks to her nor knows her anymore.

Life in time will have either loved ones die and or family break up and the people that care forgotten. This is why virtue and virtue alone should be the sole motivator because in time the world will take away any emotional connection with people or things.

I would prefer a better ending but as our relationship stands and has for a while I could take it or leave it

wtf that’s horrible?!? Poor girl basically lost entire family. Family members can just be horrible. I’m very appreciative for the family I created for myself. I have supportive friends who stick with me through everything and I still have my mom but sometimes I still just want my dad back
