my emetophpbia is getting really bad. convinced myself i have norovirus every night. constantly washing my hands. ugh just want to go back to not being as anxious about it

#1 is definitely onto something because I also have severe emetophobia but none of those habits seem just purely phobia related, i’d definitely recommend getting checked out for ocd by a professional if you haven’t already

do u by chance have compulsive behaviors about other things… sounds similar to me and im working on getting assessed for ocd 😅

no not really. i haven’t been assessed for anything but i think i might have health related anxiety. i get really worked up over a random health issue every couple of weeks and then i move on to something else

ooh okay that makes sense. i’m a hypochondriac so i absolutely understand. i’m constantly freaking out about potentially having some kind of health problem. i’m sorry that you’re experiencing this :( i understand how awful it feels. definitely keep an eye out for behaviors you do related to your anxiety bc i wouldn’t ignore ocd as a possibility, ive gotten so bad sometimes to where im afraid to eat food which isn’t good! i wish you so much luck, you will be okay 🩷

i’ll stop yapping after this lol.. but therapy and medication have helped me immensely. not saying u HAVE to have meds because that is absolutely not always necessary, but just a few months of regular therapy has really helped. if you have the ability, i would recommend trying. 🩷

thank you! you’re very sweet. yea i’ve thought about going to therapy. i haven’t always been like this but i got sick in september and then it started getting bad for some reason. i appreciate your advice 💕💕

that’s totally understandable. i have a similar experience! some issues i have always done but most of my ocd concern just started in january. sometimes your brain does things that are in attempt to protect you/ease anxiety somehow and they end up not being helpful maybe that’s why you’re experiencing! i’ve learned that that’s probably what im experiencing. and you’re very welcome! 🫶🏽🩷
