Nicotine. Stick n pokes. Throwing away every sharp thing in the house to at least slow yourself down. If you have the capacity to not want to do it then if you just stall long enough for the urge to fade you can break it.

Yeah, for me it still is a coping mechanism for when things are very bad and intense for me, and I’ve truthfully found no good way to steer myself away from it.

I find ice cubes, drawing on your arm, or ripping/breaking things can help some people not self harm. Some ppl even use sfx makeup. I know you’ve probably heard at least some of these before, but I recommend giving them a fair shot. Also sometimes people need to be reminded of other options yanno?

I’ve tried most of the methods, but it’s almost becoming less of a coping mechanism nowadays and a consistent go to whenever I hit like a mid-low rather than a low these days.

I’ve given so much shit to people who smoke/vape, I’m almost scared to pick something up like that, my brain processes that as worse than relapsing with a sharp

Hey you do have free will. If that is how you choose to cope then nothing I say will influence that. It sounds to me like you’re not ready to stop and thats valid.
