One thing that helped me a TON is practicing Buddhist mindfulness. Live in the present, not the future. Don’t stress about something that hasn’t even happened yet, save the stress for if it actually happens. Cross that bridge if you get to it. Though I know sometimes, especially if you have an anxiety disorder your brain gets anxious despite whatever you’re thinking about which sucks, and for that you actually need meds or something cuz it’s a chemical imbalance 😭
See I try to do that but I can’t get things out of my head. I’m not sure if it’s ocd or what but I will literally obsess over things and become nonfunctional because I can’t stop freaking out about it. And yeah I have severe anxiety/panic disorder and major (or manic, can’t remember) depressive disorder. I have a psychiatrist and am on meds and like the meds are working and do decrease my depression and stuff but it isn’t enough anymore
That does sound like ocd…specifically the ruminating part of ocd. Mindfulness helped me with that, specifically Buddhist techniques to clear your brain, as well as a lot of CBT. I was actually able to stop a ruminating spiral for the first time a little while ago! :D So I believe there’s hope for you, pookie <3 If you ever want advice/someone to talk to from someone who’s been there and is on the other side, my DMs are always open :)
