This very true. I have BPD (borderline, a lot of people think it’s bipolar when I just say the acronym) and I was at rock bottom for a while. It seemed like the universe was against me and life would never get better. I thought about death almost every day and I was so very unstable. However, things did get better. They still are. I say this in the kindest and most helpful way, but getting there does take work, and you’ll only get there if you choose to work on yourself. Many colleges have

Therapists you can see for free, and there’s many things online you can also access for free. I hope you have some kind of support system, because that always helps too. What saved me was truly working on myself, but also giving myself grace

Thank you for your input!! All of this is true, and I fully agree about the combination of work & grace. It is extremely important to push yourself forward, but it is just as important if not more important to understand that progress isn’t instant, and failure isn’t permanent. Success is getting back up and trying again. Try not to be hateful or judgmental toward yourself, try to be kind and constructive to yourself the way you would be to a friend struggling with the same things.
