I lived on campus and feel in love with my roommate. Long story short, he didn’t like me back so I went on a crazy sex addiction that basically drove me to the point of near suicide. My best friend from high school comforted me so much that I was able to grow out of the dark times I had. I considered him my best friend, but he didn’t consider the same. I was in such a fucked up point in my life that I was waiting for a savior. He saved me. But I fell in love with him after.
He kept hanging out with this other friend who didn’t like me, and I didn’t like him either. He pissed me off and was crazy immature. But my best friend considered HIM his best friend. I grew jealous and isolated myself from him. But that made me feel worse and I fucking ruined everything. Slowly it looks like my high school friends left me and became suckers for this other guy who doesn’t like me. And now, my best friend truly left me.
I then realized I wanted to love my best friend no matter what, even if he doesn’t consider me his closest friend. Even if I don’t get anything in return. I tried and tried but he ignored me again and again when I sent him messages and reels on Instagram. I think it’s too fucking late. But then I got to thinking.
I looked back at old messages with this other guy (who “doesn’t like me”) and he really isn’t a bad person. He sent me birthday and Christmas messages. And for the shitty things I accused him of being, it could never outmatch the things I’ve done while living on campus. I was the bad person this whole time, and I was afraid to admit it. And now it cost me everything. I am now completely and absolutely alone.
