1.) Scott has ALWAYS referred to Steve as Cap, not to mention he corrects himself 2.) We haven’t even had Scott and Sam interact since he’s become Cap. This is what happens when you don’t do anything with Captain America or the Avengers in general until a year before Doomsday

I think it’s also supposed to be the setup for John and Alexei to chime in that they were also “Cap” to poke fun at the sheer amount of “Caps” in the room
