Ik this isn’t towards me but I love this series bc we’re getting all the excitement and drama of a super hero film but it’s now character driven not about spectacle also this is the buddy show/film I’ve been searching for this scratched an itch I gave up on reaching idk I’m going in for second tonight

I’m on the 7th ep and it’s been a slow progression. Barely any showcase of his powers up until this point, no teases/reveals of the villain and it seems like it’s in a different universe from the MCU. It would probably be better if it wasn’t a Marvel Superhero product, but a show from another network. Just my opinion.

It reminded me a lot of the Netflix series and Cloak & Dagger (all of which I generally enjoyed) in the sense that I could get attached to a street level character in this larger world of heroes. I think it's an interesting story that adds a lot to the MCU. Simon wants to be an actor, not a superhero, which makes for an interesting origin story imo. I don't think this works as well outside of the MCU. It contrasts itself well from other series and makes Trevor into someone I actually care about.

Honestly, all of this is what makes it probably the best MCU show. For me. It’s so unique and refreshing. Projects like this really make the world feel more real. The Marvel comics universe has thrived because of how real a world they could create through more than just super heroics and the MCU has lacked that from the start, which is criminal, so I love seeing something like this.
