I think if her name was not ethnic, they would’ve still called her a different name to mock her. I just haven’t seen that link between it being racially motivated. Maybe it’s just me.

i agree and i don’t even think that was the intention either but having an ethnic name unfortunately makes it an easy target to be made fun of, and people usually go for that first. it just is what it is, no matter the intent. i don’t even think it’s THAT deep but .. it is what it is

I understand that. I just think there’s other stuff people can point out like people talking about the way she speaks (even though she’s exaggerating it) and how smart she is. I think that’s more racially motivated than a petty nickname.

She’s been smart. She has a degree in kinesiology/exercise physiology and as someone who’s taken both those classes…that shit is hard so I can’t even imagine majoring in it.

Ngl I feel like she’s leaning into it on the show to give off that “I’m foreign” vibes because usually when you have an accent they try to hide it like Ola did and some of the girls from this season. It’s kinda like Corbin deepening his already deep voice.

Im not into exercise physiology or kinesiology and I hated the classes so it was hard for me, but it’s a lot to memorize and not a lot of people can pass/ graduate with that degree.

I’m not saying she was faking it. I think she has a natural accent and I think on certain words she’s going to say differently. I just don’t think it’s as thick/ hard to understand as it was shown in the villa.

100%. I know people who have retaken human anatomy, exercise physiology, and kinesiology at least once. No shame to them but it just doesn’t always click the first time. It clicked for her and she’s been a personal trainer for like 5 years now
