It’s called an analogy. He was talking about the situation which is comparable with what he was talking about, not calling the girls literally fish

Not sure what that has to do with the analogy but ok He was talking about how when you catch two fish u don’t have to discard one, referring to how he can have a connection with both Kayda and Melanie, which is literally the point of the show
