Random, when people my age judge gay men who married women harshly. I kinda dgaf. Being gay could get you disowned by everyone in your life, hate crimed, harassed, and even killed. Being gay for a lot of people depending on where ur from wasn’t an option.

In my own experience, I would get beaten up for being “less than a man, which usually means having to conform to backwards ideals of manhood as shown by countries that are less industrial.

True! Just idea of telling someone can mean the difference between getting beaten or killed. This is why I have contempt towards people who have only lived in the west or have strong connections to the west.

Also, usually my assumption when I see something like this is they might not have realized they’re gay or that it’s ok for them to be gay. There’s so many reasons this might happen, hold your judgement for a moment.

I have a lesbian friend who recently married a man and a part of me feels sad for her because I KNOW she wanted women and didn’t have a supportive environment 🥺

Yeah, I would feel sad for your friend. Not being able to be with someone who she really loves and having to fall to society’s pressures.
