I feel like that rings true now, but a cishet woman who used her money and power to fight for people with aids when Regan was turning a blind eye is a pretty big deal

cishet women today can in fact be icons within the queer community. many groups look up to individuals who were not necessarily members of their group, and queerness is not a requisite for helping queer community
