are they being sexual or are they just being hot and you can’t fathom why a woman would want to be hot if not for sex or the gaze of men?

are they being sexual or are they just being hot and you’re uncomfortable with your attraction to “a man in woman’s clothes” and lashing out?

Are they being sexual or do you just view any act of queerness as an inherently deviant sexual display?

No clue what conservatives are smoking to think drag = naked 😵‍💫

(Not arguing with op btw!) Drag queens can be sexual. But also i dont see how thats directly a result of their “performance of femininity”. Sexual isnt bad. Part of queerness is sexuality. A man being feminine sexually is pretty queer. But in no way is it equating femininity to sex, those things can coexist while not defining each other.

they aren’t but if your only exposure was rupaul’s drag race then you might understandably think that they are

not every drag queen is sexual, but there are a LOT that are.

Honestly, the only drag shows I have been to or seen have absolutely been inherently sexual with stripping and sexual things being displayed on stage 💀 drag itself isn’t inherently sexual but the artists can absolutely make it sexual and DO make it sexual a lot of the time.

Drag queens aren’t inherently sexual. That said, most drag shows are (not just burlesque shows) and this isn’t always well-advertised. My expectation at my first drag show was more of a fashion show with drag queens. It was not. Instead it was much more akin to something from a strip club (not really stripping but the same vibe).

And if they are, then people under 18 aren’t allowed at the show

what people need to understand is it's an art form. art CAN be sexual. but it isn't always

You’re missing the point. Not all drag shows are sexual. Most all of the ones that are telling dirty jokes are age restricted.

you just wanted to argue. i didn’t miss anything. i was responding to another comment. not once did i say anything about being sexual. drag queens can do whatever the hell they want because they are grown. if someone decides to go and get offended by a human being doing human things then they’re dumb😭

some people are stupid and take their children to a drag show then get mad. it’s essentially berlesque for some of the queens. that’s part of the fun. and who doesn’t love a good berlesque show?☺️

i think you’re reading too much into their comment…sometimes, drags queen shows are age restricted. most of the time, they are not. that is all anyone was saying.

So I don’t think it’s too crazy when so much of the exposer for drag is sexual to think that it’s sexual, but obviously as is true of all art forms, there are many different expressions and kinds of performances. I think of it very similar to modeling and fashion shows, like yeah some are sexual and there is a whole category for it, but there are lots of others.

I think the people complaining about it see it once or twice themselves and then just hear about it after that and it becomes an echo chamber of “oh it’s so sexual” to just confirm their beliefs rather than looking further into it as an art form and finding non sexual drag content. Or they assume it will become sexual so view anything drag through those tinted lenses and try to find something too sexual about it

Yeah, the ones that aren’t age respected are PG. They perform with the knowledge that children might be there
