My sister is a cis straight woman who changed her name and people just go with it. This is not a new concept.

I did! I just didnt explain to people (besides close friends) before and introduced myself as my new name in class, and then IF/when people asked, I told them. A shocking number of people will not ask, but if they do (and you don’t want to say you’re trans) just say “oh I go by this now”

I’m in the same boat as #2. I’m lucky in that there were four of us in an already very Queer field, but still felt nervous finding my footing at first.
