my woke take is that christians didn’t just recently become so hateful and fundamentally un-christian like…they have always been like this. Like as far back as history goes christianity has been used as a tool of hate.

as a christian who is queer, it’s been forever. people realized they can use beliefs to scare others into submission. they’ve been using God as a scare tactic forever and that’s why there’s so much religious trauma from/in the church. :(
