The first post the, “is this a safe space to say that if someone tells me they are unlabeled I’m just going to assume they are bi” has 8 upvotes while “hot take: if you call yourself ‘bisexual’ and you’re dating someone of the opposite gender, I’m going to assume you are straight” has -13. It shows how comfortable bisexual people are with disrespecting other’s labels and they justify it by saying that bisexuals are invalidated

Both posts are disrespectful but the difference in the public opinion shows what I am saying

Other groups in the lgbt community are just as comfortable invalidating other peoples identities, not just bi people. It’s not justified but you can’t brush it off just because there are a few assholes (which is true for every social group to ever exist)

Well yes. You’re correct. It’s just that in this specific case it was about bi people which is why 1 was talking about them

Thank you! I was not saying that other groups don’t also invalidate others, just in this specific instance it was bisexual ppl and shouldn’t be wrong to point that out

I’m trans and bi. I really don’t see any issue with 1s comments. They never once said this was only bi people. This specific case however is actually about bi people which is why it’s being discussed

Do you think that only bi people upvoted that post???? It’s everyone here dude, they just phrased it slightly more politely this isn’t a “bi people love to invalidate people” think, they just phrased it nicer
