The 1st amendment grants freedom of expression yes but in practical experience theres a lot of state/quasigovt censorship of especially flagship media. Even moreso with social media starting to supercede legacy media

I moreso mean that you’re allowed to write whatever you want without them arresting you. There are a lot of people in the queer community that believe if you write about rape, or incest, or any illegal topic they particularly find “icky” you should be arrested. That’s what I was referring to.

I mean the point still stands, if youre deemed a radical your fiction gets taken as some sort of truth to be punished. I know older folks who got arrested for such things

Also don’t call drawings csam. I am a survivor of csam and Its absolutely offensive and wrong to say that a drawing harms children in the same way real photos and videos do. Ai is different as it’s actually trained on actual csam, but art can’t be csam as there actually needs to be a child who was abused for it to be csam.

I agree this happens, but I’m mostly trying to say that people in this community are advocating for it to happen more and it needs to stop. Whataboutisms don’t really add anything productive to a discussion like this.

I believe it is disgusting and morally wrong, I don’t believe it should be illegal. Why do I say that? Because a crime needs to have a victim. Someone drawing like bkdk still in high school doing each other doesn’t cause anyone to be victimized besides like my eyes.

And the state limiting freedom of expression, even if most people think that expression is reprehensible in some way, gives them an in to do it for other things like queer/radical stories. Which is what happens ik it sounds slippery slope

What if they were using your photos as reference though? Like I wanna agree with that take but if I found out someone was using nude photos of me from when I was underage (that I hope aren’t floating around anywhere) I’d be extremely disturbed
