As someone who works for walmart it’s typically cheaper for me to buy from walmart as I get the discount + they’re open when i’m free. Do you have any suggestions for this?

Tbh we should only really boycott one of these, a strategic boycott targeting one business is more effective.

Ben and Jerry themselves and the og people are amazing but they’ve been taken over by bad people and companies and are basically leaving the company they love and started bc of that I think. I forgot how it happened. I think it was sold or merged and it slowly developed into that or something. Idek I could be very off

Bought out/corporate take over. Jerry also left over it and said they were forced to drop their activism.

it kinda does tho. the color selection is weird and doesn’t mesh well with the black background. the gray lettering is an odd color compared to the other lettering and ben and jerry’s is spelled with two different apostrophes

Ik, what I was trying to say is if the concept of boycotting means to stop buying/supporting then only going when it’s Time for free stuff would be better bc actively lose money that way

Jerry just left the company a week or two ago, citing that the main factor was Unilever was stifling their ideology as a brand to support causes and speak out against injustice.

If you cannot fully boycott (I can’t fully boycott Walmart either), just buy the bare minimum. No little treats (or at least get them elsewhere), just absolute necessities.

Buy local as much as possible, I know in many places of the country Walmart is peoples only option so if you have to buy there it’s okay, lots of imperfect actions are better than 1 or 2 perfect ones.

Saying it’s 6 stores is rather deceptive since 3 of them are probably where most people do their shopping. Also Amazon is not really 1 store in the traditional sense

this won’t work for most ppl tbh but i think it’s worth putting out there, if you live in/near a mid-larger sized city check to see if there’s a refillery around. it’s generally cheaper if you bring your own containers and it’s better for the environment! i just say this because i live in the outskirts of a city w 120,000 ppl and just learned we have one, and im really excited about it!!

they’re usually more expensive buying directly from the companies since i’d have to pay shipping, while if it’s walmart or target i can go in person, then amazon free shipping. i’m on a budget, and can’t just ask my parents for extra money. don’t have any like local businesses that’ll sell similar items unless i wanna pay double. i live in an area where the locals make it seem like bc they’re local and small, their prices are cheaper, but they’re way more expensive 😭

That’s fair. If you can’t afford to boycott or the products you need aren’t available anywhere else, just buy the bare minimum from these places. No one should be mad at you for just trying to survive.
