i’m monogamous and feel the same way about sex but i also understand that not everyone feels that way. not everyone has the same relationship to sex as you and that’s ok.

Well that’s just like, your opinion, pal. Some people don’t think that sexual intimacy causes a special connection; and to be honest they’re more right than you are. Nothing wrong with wanting to be monogamous, or wanting emotional connections before or after sex. Nothing wrong with the vice versa, either.

I don’t think sex is particularly special on the intimacy scale, but I do want a romantic and intimate connection with whoever I decide to have sex with first. And I’m ambiamorous so that could be 1 or more people

I don’t think it’s an “our community” problem, I think it’s just “a” problem. Think about the amount of frat guys who brag about pestering girls until they give into whatever sex act (usually anal because frat boys are uncreative).
