Hot take: Heated Rivalry is an average show that got good reviews because for the first time ever, the star characters are not walking stereotypes In 10-15 years, when masc gay characters are common, people will realize there’s better shows out there

its based off a goofy ahh book so yeah 🫩🫩 like i love that show but i cant stand anyone except for ilya and shane cuz their actors are pretty good also on the grand scale, some queer ppl are bound to find better shows but for the vast majority it’s a great show cuz its decent rep and cishet ppl definitely wont be looking much deeper than mainstream for queer media so. yeah but u have a point

the show is a really good adaptation of the book, but the book helps tell their inner monologues aswell which is SUPER crucial to the story imo. knowing shane and ilya's internal perspective during a lot of the scenes makes it more than just a show mainly showing sex with some quirks

Look up Lani’s Lens “everyone is hot but no one is attractive anymore.…”. Very good critique.

No stereotypes, yet they still made the Asian guy the bottom.

“mainly showing sex” and the sex is 13 minutes out of a 6 hour show
