btw overpopulation is typically a racist dogwhistle. the problem rn isn’t the population level, it’s resource allocation.

I’ve never heard of it being used in that sense? I feel like that’s like saying “climate change is woke” -humanities growth has been exponential so naturally it’s gonna overpopulate at some point, that’s a human thing not a race thing buddy all of us fuck

just because you’ve never heard of something being racist doesn’t mean the concept is never deployed that way. you sound like fox news pundits when they hear someone say “roads are racist,” instead of reacting w curiosity they act like it’s a joke and not reflecting the reality that the interstate highway system was often intentionally built over black neighborhoods.

While overpopulation is a concern, it’s a lot more distant than people think, 4 is right: our biggest issue is resource allocation (housing, food etc)

you can google it, but it’s important to recognize that overpopulation is often a way to shift the blame for climate change to african nations and south/southeast asian nations while ignoring the way that affluent white global north countries and the expected life style in those places are some of the primary drivers of climate change.
