lol “believe this or you don’t deserve rights” wbt the right to opinion? Right to free speech? The first one sure, the rest… I mean what rights are they not receiving again? As far as I’m concerned they all still have rights under the US constitution except for the ILLEGAL imigrants, I love legal immigrants, half of my friends are immigrants. But since they didn’t obtain their LEGAL citizenship through OUR LEGAL system, why should OUR LEGAL SYSTEM protect them?

You believe queer ppl and women deserve rights but not immigrants and trans people? Why?

I didn’t say that *I* believe those things, I am just posing a hypothetical. I definitely believe all 4. We already addressed what it means to believe 0, 1, and 4, but not 2 or 3.

Commenter said that if you believe 0 you are a fascist. OP said if you believe 1 you are a hypocrite. I was just asking *hypothetically* what one could be called if you believed in 2 or 3. I personally believe all 4! Hoping for a blue tsunami 🌊 on Tuesday to help protect the rights of all.

Then don’t frame it as if you don’t. It’s not cute or quirky.

you clearly just wanted to have a gotcha moment bc you obviously knew the answer to the question.

I didn’t frame it that way though. I literally said “what if YOU” not “what if I” believed that. I may be borderline autistic though and expect people to take things more literally. I just wanted to build upon the pattern that was forming. The OP told us what you would be if you believed in 1, a comment told us what you would be if you believed in 0. Logically, I was curious to see if we could collectively come up with a word for 2 and 3, to complete this gap in information.

“What if you / suppose you / etc.” are common rhetorical setups that don’t specify an exact listener and can include the speaker as well. Thinking one group of people deserves rights but others don’t is hypocritical because there are constant overlaps— think intersectionality. “Immigrants don’t deserve rights, women do”, yet there are immigrants who are women. That’s why it’s hypocritical. OP didn’t specify“if you believe the first exclamation is true, but not the fourth…” as an example.

Ok. I guess it could have included me, but the reader should know that it doesn’t necessarily include me, since I was vague. The OP said that if you agree with one proclamation and not others, you are a hypocrite. I am wondering what you/one would be if you/one believed in exactly 2 or 3 of the listed proclamations. We already know what you/one would be if you/one believed in 0 or 1 of the 4 proclamations.

OP hasn’t commented on if none of them are addressed, and thinking two of these groups deserve rights but two don’t is still hypocritical, as is three but not one. Anything less than acknowledging that all of these demographics deserve rights is horrendous and not something that should be recognised or really given energy.

Ok! I’ll drop it. It was a silly question, and apparently people don’t want to be humorous! But what matters is that we both agree that women, trans people, queer people, and immigrants deserve rights.🙆‍♀️ 🏳️‍⚧️ 🏳️‍🌈👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩👩‍❤️‍👩👨‍❤️‍👨👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 ❌🧊❌. Do you agree?

Not that it’s relevant to the post but 1) Abortion, that’s kind of a big one. 2) Healthcare. 3) Marriage, also healthcare, also adoption. 4) Due process.

Because everyone deserves safety, dumbass. People aren’t illegal. And being here undocumented is a civil matter, not a criminal one. The entirety of what you understand of the US is because of undocumented immigrants coming and taking land that wasn’t theirs to take. Now people come here for better opportunities and safety and you want them dead for it.
