Generalizing all Native cultures as queer-friendly erases their diversity. While some nations recognized 2-Spirit/queer identities, others didn't. Colonialism destroyed much of this history. honor each nation's unique traditions w/o romanticizing the past

yes exactly, indigenous societies were/are not monoliths. also historic openness to gender/sexual diversity does not necessarily translate to contemporary queer positivity.
