has anyone here read the webcomic welcome to the internet, transvestite? it’s nsfw and pretty haunting fair warning but it’s resonated with me far more than any other recent representation has

you mentioned it was nsfw, do you think I’d enjoy it as an aroace trans person? or is it nsfw in other ways

i doubt a haunting webcomic about being trans online requires horniness to enjoy

our experiences as trans people often include a struggle with sexuality and coming to terms with it. I don’t relate to trans stories that discuss that intertwined journey since I’m not allo.

from context i would assume it has a lot more to do with how the culture of the internet interacts with trans identity and experience. there might be elements of that but if it’s well written enough, reading about experiences you don’t relate to can still be very interesting. would be cool if you knew any good writing about aro experiences of transness

unfortunately a small minority and the ones I’ve seeked out werent great quality. also I was asking primarily because I have a list of things to watch related to trans-ness and wanted to know where I should place it. like I still haven’t watched TV Glow so there’s a line lol

In Stars And Time is the only piece of media with aro/ace rep that I adore, though the main plot doesn’t focus on it. which imo is a good thing considering how it delivered its primary message, plus having two aro/ace characters talk together abt their experiences in media is pretty cool

there are minor sexual elements but mainly depicts abuse/harassment, self harm and mentions of gore

to further clarify it’s not a long story, it’s about 20 images long and it’s a snapshot of a trans woman’s experience in the early 2000s 4chan internet
