sometimes people don’t really grasp the concept of the sociological matrix of domination. it isn’t oppressed and oppressors, there are so many different layers to privilege and identity that make some minorities still feel like being against other minorities to uplift themselves. you’re totally right for pointing out this privilege in white gay men, especially because being a white man with a minority sexual orientation is a completely different experience from the “obviously” trans / queer +poc

Don’t know what the original post was but that’s so real. I was late out of the closet and so desperate for queer friends and was so surprised by how awful people were. Like do we not all experience the same bs from society together??

I think maybe the poster is taking it personally? Which is weird cuz like… its true and if youre personally offended by it, maybe its true?

It’s just so strange to me because the post seemed to be pretty similar in theme to what we were saying. Aside from specifying that Anderson, who asked the transphobic question, is a part of the lgbt+ community

It was the Lady Gaga interview post, where Anderson Cooper asked if she had a “male appendage”

Clarifying that when I say “similar in theme”, I mean that the post was making a very pro trans and anti transphobia stance. It just confuses me why they would make a stance like that, then get upset over calling out transphobia
