Would you forgive a homophobe/transphobe/racist that has changed, and has educated themselves on the experiences of others?

I think it depends the age too, if they grew up in a very radicalized house and had to deconstruct as a teen, I empathize a lot more with that than someone who was a neonazi all their life until gas prices convinced them that people exist

the answer is solidly “maybe”. because how much have they changed? Are they safe for me to be around as a white trans person? Are they safe for non white people to be around? These are different kinds or degrees of safety that that person may or may not measure up to do they recognize that the learning process is never meant to stop?

Depends on what they were complicit in prior and if they’re doing it because they genuinely understand the harm they caused and now are doing the work to improve things and educate others instead of just to be in everyone’s good graces. Too much nuance for a yes/no.
