Holding one powerful celebrity accountable doesn’t harm Black women. Nicki Minaj is not a stand in for us especially when she’s body shamed other Black women, aligned herself with MAGA rhetoric, and publicly defended a convicted sex offender. Critiquing her and her choices isn’t an attack on Black women. Treating her like she represents all of us is.

You seem to have misunderstood. Nobody’s saying that holding her accountable and “critiquing her and her choices” is an attack on black women. OP is saying that making fun of a body type that a lot of other black women have is bad. Definitely critique her and hold her accountable. Don’t drag down others to do it

There are lots of women out there who did not have surgery to enhance their bodies and look like that. If that was the case I would say this argument is valid. I don’t think people should be made fun of for things they can’t help or can’t easily fix. But MAGA Minaj CHOSE to look like this.
