i am a closeted transmasc with a roommate who is an out tmasc nonbinary person, i want to come out to them bc ik they’d be accepting obviously but i am rlly scared cuz i havent rlly come out to ppl irl before:( any tips pls

let them know that you’re a guy who uses whatever pronouns and name you prefer. maybe mention that you aren’t out to family or friends—if that’s the case—and then the two of you could go from there

there are different amounts of “out of the closet” and it’s not up to you to dictate someone else’s use of this language. typically, being “out” means out publicly, such as kissing a same-gender partner in public or introducing them to friends/family as your partner

if they’re posting it anonymously (which they are on this app) they’re not out of the closet even online
